LONDON: PHIL RYAN AT THE CRAZY COQS

International singer songwriter Phil Ryan will take you on a journey through his musical career as he mixes new material with some classic tracks from the 80s, 90s and Noughties at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Friday & Saturday, February 6th & 7th at 8:00 pm. Phil, an artist with countless years of studio work and live touring performance behind him, will also divulge some secrets about what bands get up to on tour and reveal some unbelievable, mind-blowing stories. Phil began his musical career as a session guitarist, headlining in festivals across England. Through the late eighties, he could often be found in studios jamming with the likes of Boy George, John Martyn and Van Morrison. His master guitar-playing graces the tracks of countless albums and soundtracks. He has performed all over the world with a veritable who's who of well-known artists, including to 100,000 strong crowds in Red Square Moscow as lead singer for the iconic band The Animals. Phil founded The Twelve Bar Club in London's Soho. This tiny power-house of a venue has provided an early-home to The Libertines, Keane, Eva Cassidy, Seasick Steve, Tom Chapman, Martha Wainwright, Damien Rice, Jeff Buckley, Regina Spektor and K.T. Tunstall, among countless others. Within a year of the Club opening, Phil won the award for running Time Out's Best Music Venue. Call for cover/minimum information.

LONDON: IAN SHAW CELEBRATES THE SONGWRITERS

Ian Shaw celebrates the great singer-songwriters from Leiber & Stoller, the Beatles, Carol King and Joni Mitchell to Elton John, David Bowie and Amy Winehouse at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Saturday, February 7th at 10:30 pm as part of the club's Late Night Jazz Series. Described as one of the most distinctive, original and creative jazz singers on the scene, Shaw is also a talented pianist and songwriter. Twice voted 'Best Jazz Vocalist' at the BBC Jazz Awards, nominated for a JazzFM award and with more than a dozen albums to his name, he is much in demand as the featured soloist with big bands and orchestras both in the UK and internationally, as well as pairing with the likes of Guy Barker, Liane Carroll and Claire Martin. LONDON: PLATFORM 4 - HOSTED BY LINLEY WEIR AT THE PHEASANTRY

Platform 4 - Hosted by Linley Weir featuring Caron Gardner, Isabel Saunders, Rae Phillips, will be presented at THE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Saturday, February 7th at 8:30 pm. Actress and Vocalist Caron Gardner's love of film and music started very early in life. Having met Duke Ellington in the 60's whilst singing and dancing for the American troops Caron was influenced by his music and continues to be today. Isabel Saunders love of music as a child led her to Trinity College of Music where she graduated as a cellist in 1998. Since leaving vocal education she has been performing at Festivals and Jazz venues in and around London and wowing audiences with her stunning voice. Rae Phillips a London girl raised on a diet of vintage vocal jazz. Comes of age, becomes a lawyer and forgets the importance of music. Five years ago she rediscovered her creative side at Richmond Jazz School and has since performed at various Jazz venues in London. Call for cover/minimum information.
