LOS ANGELES: KRITZERLAND: ALL THE THINGS YOU ARE - THE SONGS OF JEROME KERN

Kritzerland Upstairs at Sterling's presents "All The Things You Are - The Songs Of Jerome Kern" on Monday, February 2nd at 8:00 pm at STERLING'S AT THE FEDERAL (5303 Lankershim Boulevard, North Hollywood, CA - 818-754-8700), As always, the cast includes some of the best voices in town, including Kimberly Hessler, Jean Louisa Kelly, Damon Kirsche, Madison Claire Parks, and Jeffrey Christopher Todd, with Music Director: John Boswell. Special Guest: Andrea Marcovicci with Shelly Markham. For their 54th Kritzerland show, they are thrilled to present a tribute to one of the greatest musical theater and Great American Songbook composers in history - Jerome Kern. Jerome Kern's melodies are among the most glorious ever written • add to that the brilliant lyricists he worked with, from Oscar Hammerstein, Jr. to Dorothy Fields to Otto Harbach to Johnny Mercer to Ira Gershwin, and the result is heavenly musical magic. From shows like Showboat, Very Warm for May, Leave It to Jane, Roberta, The Cat and the Fiddle, Music in the Air, to movie musicals like Swing Time, You Were Never Lovelier, Cover Girl and his final film, Centennial Summer (MGM also made a musical about his life, Till the Clouds Roll By), Kern's contributions to those shows resulted in some of the most beloved songs ever written: "The Way You Look Tonight," "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes," "Long Ago and Far Away," "All The Things You Are," "I've Told Ev'ry Little Star," "A Fine Romance," "I Won't Dance," "Can't Help Lovin' That Man of Mine," "Make Believe," "Yesterdays," and so many more. Join host and producer Bruce Kimmel for this tuneful evening of Kern songs, both well known and, as always at Kritzerland, unknown. Cover charge $15 + $10 food minimum + $5 facility charge.
