LONDON: TIM FLAVIN AT THE CRAZY COQS
After playing a sell out performance at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) in 2013, the very talented and popular Tim Flavin returns on Friday & Saturday, January 16th & 17th at 8:00 pm with his new show 'Reflections Of A Song And Dance Man'. Delivering a wide range of musical theatre genres to illustrate a career spanning five decades, Tim will sing songs penned from writers such as Gershwin, Berlin, Herman, Sondheim, Bricusse, Rogers and Hammerstein, The Beatles and Stephen Schwartz. Tim Flavin is the first American actor to be presented with the Laurence Olivier Award for his performance in Rodgers and Hart's On Your Toes at the Palace Theatre. Other West End credits include the role of Billy Buck Chandler in My One and Only for which he was again nominated for an Olivier Award for best actor in a musical. The role of Bobby Child in Crazy For You at the Prince Edward Theatre garnered another best actor nomination. Most recently Tim appeared as Julian Marsh in the Curve Theatre (Leicester) production of 42nd Street. 'Reflections Of A Song And Dance Man' will without doubt be a wonderful evening of song and reminiscence from one of Britain's favourite hoofers.
LONDON: LATE NIGHT JAZZ: JAY RAYNER QUARTET
The renowned restaurant critic, Masterchef judge and sometime jazz pianist Jay Rayner brings The Jay Rayner Quartet: Hungry Jazz to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Friday & Saturday, January 17th & 18th at 10:30 pm as part of the club's late night jazz series. The Quartet is an ensemble of top flight musicians performing ninety minutes of tunes from the Great American food and drink songbook. There will be standards from the likes of Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, Blossom Dearie and Dave Frishberg, alongside anecdotes from his life being paid to eat out on somebody else's dime, and stories about growing up with a mother, Claire Rayner, who was a sex advice columnist. With the singer Pat Gordon Smith, bassist Robert Rickenberg and saxophonist Dave Lewis. Jay Rayner is the Observer's award-winning restaurant critic, a regular judge on Masterchef, food reporter on The One Show and presenter of The Kitchen Cabinet on BBC Radio 4. He's a former sex columnist for Cosmopolitan, has published seven books, none of which have troubled the bestseller lists, and once allowed himself to be waxed all over in the interests of journalism. He only mentions this because it hurt. Jay has a fine collection of flowery shirts, and a pronounced addiction to all things pig. Call for cover/minimum information.
LONDON: LISA KWEI AND GUESTS AT THE PHEASANTRY
London based Acoustic Pop Band fronted by Singer/ Songwriter Lisa Kwei has fast become one to watch. Their music is infectious, melodic, acoustic styled pop with a heart and soul. They will be performing at THE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Friday, January 16th at 8:30 pm. Their debut album 'The Girl You Left Behind' has sold thousands.
