NYC: RIDDLE, RONSTADT & ROBYN AT THE MET
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Nelson Riddle / Linda Ronstadt collaboration of the Great American Songbook, multi-award winner Robyn Spangler sings selections from the three platinum certified albums: "What's New", "Lush Life" and "For Sentimental Reasons" at the THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Monday, January 12th at 9:30 pm and Saturday, January 17th at 4:00 pm. Ms. Spangler will be joined by her Musical Director Todd Schroeder. When Linda Ronstadt decided she wanted to do an album of American standards, she wanted the moon. She wanted Nelson Riddle to do the arrangements. It turned out to be an exceptional pairing and some of the last arrangements of Riddle's career. Robyn grew up on the 'Nelson Riddle Sound' although she didn't think of it that way as a child. Linda Ronstandt's dominance in pop music was added to her musical psyche in middle school and the two have been writing on the musical slate of who she is ever since. Robyn Spangler is a fourth generation professional performer who has appeared in prestigious rooms internationally and across the US including Royce Hall in Los Angeles, The Lyceum Theatre in San Diego, Carnegie Hall in New York and The Pheasantry in London. Robyn is frequently seen singing convention dates, benefits and private events. Robyn is also a songwriter and has charted #1 on ReverbNation with her song "Second Wind" co-penned with collaborator and friend Todd Schroeder. She has two solo albums "On A Liquid Afternoon" and "Why I Love Linda Ronstadt" both of which are receiving play on Delta Airlines inflight Hello Music Channel and available on Amazon and iTunes. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
