NYC: THIS IS YOUR NIGHT: KITTY SKROBELA
THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) has been presenting a series of events under the banner of "This is Your Night!". The events are based on a classic premise that is hosted by Metropolitan Room Managing Partner, Bernie Furshpan, and profiles a guest honoree who has contributed in some significant way to the NYC Entertainment Industry. On Monday, September 8th at 7:00 pm they will be honoring Kitty Skrobela. Kitty is an amazing woman who (along with her late husband Paul) has been a supporter of the art of cabaret and the performers of cabaret for many years. And not just by attending a lof of cabaret events. Several years ago they formed MIRANDA MUSIC which supports cabaret performers in developing and creating CDs, to be released under the MIRANDA MUSIC label. Unlike other "cabaret" labels, MIRANDA is involved from start to finish (not merely slapping their label on a CD that has already been created). FEATURED PERFORMERS AND/OR SPEAKERS: John Hoglund, Sean Harkness, Karen Oberlin, Jason Morris, Ian Herman, Richard Barone, Bill Zeffiro, Christopher Gines, Julie Reyburn, Marissa Mulder, Lauren Fox, Marcus Simeone, Michael Ferreri, Tanya Holt, Sue Matsuki, Tracy Stark, Tedd Firth, Gary Crawford, Johnna Murray, John Bucchino and Benjamin Niemczyk. NYC: BROADWAY SINGS AT THE WEST END - NOW ON MONDAYS!!
The Open mic night hosted by Sarah Rice & Craig Pomranz on Thursdays on the Upper West Side has changed it's shownight! BROADWAY SINGS AT THE WEST END will now be held every MONDAY night,at THE WEST END(955 West End Avenue, NYC - 212-531-4759) from 7:00 to 9:00 pm (signup after 6:30 pm). An open mic with multi-award winning hosts Sarah and Craig bring the ultimate New York experience to the Upper West Side with all kinds of talent singing all genres of music -Broadway, Pop, Jazz, Classical, all are welcomed. There is a $7 cover - no minimum.

Chris Barrett returns to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE (313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) on Monday, May 19th, where he will be at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard.
