NYC: THE FRANK KOHL QUARTET CD RELEASE PARTY

The Frank Kohl Quartet will celebrate the release of their new CD 'Coast to Coast' at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, September 7th at 9:30 pm. Frank Kohl will be performing with special guest and master bassist: Steve LaSpina, with Tom Kohl on piano and Jon Doty on drums. Frank began his Jazz career in New York where he was born and raised. He is a graduate from Berklee College of Music. His first CD, Reform, Frank Kohl Quartet, was recorded here in New York and features the great bassist, Michael Moore. Frank moved to the West Coast where he performed his music and was a member of Don McCaslin's band, Warmth. Frank is now based in Seattle. His new CD, Coast to Coast, Frank Kohl Quartet was recorded here in New York and features pianist and brother, Tom Kohl. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. (includes a free copy of the CD)

NYC: MARK JANAS' SALON: "GIRL TALK - A NIGHT OF SONG HONORING WOMEN"

SALON - that unique, Multiple Award Winning, Weekly Open Mic Event, created and hosted by Mark Janas continues atETCETERA ETCETERA(352 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-399-4141) on Sundays from 7:00 to 10:30 pm (sign-up begins at 6:15 pm). The optional theme for Sunday evening September 7th is "Girl Talk - A Night Of Song Honoring Women". Co-Host will be Doris Dear. The Salon Spotlight will feature Sunny Leigh. Broadway & television's Telly Leung (Glee, Godspell, Rent) is back, after a year-long hiatus returning to 54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Sunday, September 7th at 9:30 pm, with a brand new show! A Song For You is an intimate evening of music; each song is a special dedication to the many people who have influenced Telly on his journey on and off the Broadway stage. This eclectic evening of great songs and personal showbiz anecdotes features the musical talents of Gary Adler (piano), Mary Ann McSweeney (bass) and Michael Croiter (drums). There is a $35-$45 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
