LONDON: MARI WILSON AT THE CRAZY COQS

"The Neasden Queen of Soul' Mari Wilson will perform atTHE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED- 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday through Saturday, Jul y 8th through 12th at 8:00 pm. For over 30 years Mari Wilson has remained a much loved, respected artiste, delivering fans 'just what they always wanted': great records and fabulous shows. This week Mari takes her audience on an intimate musical journey, with a mix of classical and contemporary songs, from The Bee Gees and Bacharach to Chrissie Hynde and Gerry Marsden. Mari will also perform some of her own hits, old and new, and perform a selection of songs from her new show- 'Am I The Same Girl- Mari Sings Dusty.' Her unique storytelling and wit runs throughout, and of course there will be a few glamorous costume changes. In 2000, Mari was the obvious choice to play the legend Dusty Springfield on the hugely successful nationwide tour of Dusty The Musical and this year has seen Mari touring the UK with her sell-out concerts paying homage to Dusty Springfield with her unique interpretation of the classic hits along with some lesser known gems. LONDON: OPEN MIC NIGHT RETURNS IN LONDON WITH HAROLD SANDITEN

Open Mic with host Harold Sanditen returns on Thursday, September 12th and every Thursday thereafter at London's THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888). This is a unique open mic in the West End, having an acoustic baby grand piano and a bass player. Michael Roulston and Jonty Fisher will be regular musicians - and both are versed at both jazz and more theatrical songs. Aimed at both the jazz and theatrical communities, The Crazy Coqs Open Mic Night welcomes all singers, composers and musicians, up & coming and established, who want to do a turn, performing new material or old favourites. For the audience, come and catch that proverbial 'rising star' (or possibly a famous West End name) in the intimate, "jewel-box" surroundings of The Crazy Coqs. Call for cover/minimum information. 

LONDON: CABARET CONFIDENTIAL AT THE PHEASANTRY

Celebrated cabaret host Jamie Anderson returns with Cabaret Confidential to THE PHEASANTRY(152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Thursday, July 10th at 8:30 pm. Anderson introduces four diverse musical acts - Carmen Vass, Nicky Gayner, Simon Loughton, Claire Platt - to explore each's unique take on the art of cabaret in this hugely popular showcase that is now in its 8th year. Musical director is Simona Budd. Not suitable for under 16s. Call for cover/minimum information.
