SAN FRANCISCO, CA: FORBIDDEN BROADWAY: ALIVE AND KICKING! AT FEINSTEIN'S

FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063) will present Forbidden Broadway: Alive and Kicking!, the wickedly funny parody of Broadway's biggest shows and brightest stars, for a limited three-week engagement, Thursdays through Sundays, July 10th through 27th. Showtimes are Thursdays & Fridays at 8:00 pm and Saturdays & Sundays qt 7:00 pm. Written and created by Gerald Alessandrini, Forbidden Broadway: Alive and Kicking! is filled with satirical vignettes of recent Broadway hits, including The Book of Mormon, Once, Newsies, and Les Miserables to name a few, as well as send-ups of Catherine Zeta Jones, Matthew Broderick, Patti LuPone, and Mandy Patinkin, among others. There is a $45-$60 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

SAN FRANCISCO: AN EVENING WITH PLAYING FOR CHANGE

Playing For Change bring their Peace Through Music Tour toYOSHI'S (1330 Fillmore Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-655-5600) on Thursday, July 10th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. The tour is in support of their new album Songs Around The World, the band's third CD/DVD set available. The Playing For Change band's 30-city tour features 10 artists from around the world including Amsterdam, Tel Aviv, South Africa, Japan, Zimbabwe, Los Angeles, Cuba, New Orleans, Los Angeles and the Congo. Playing For Change is a movement created to inspire, connect and bring peace to the world through music. In 2005, co-founders Mark Johnson and Whitney Kroenkecreated the concept of the Songs Around The World by uniting together musicians from many different countries and cultures to perform on the same track. Mark and a small crew traveled across 5 continents with a mobile recording studio and cameras with the vision of building a global family through the power of music. There is a $23-$34 cover.
