WASHINGTON, DC: SWING SHIFT AT BLUES ALLEY
The 18 Piece Big Band Swing Shift will perform at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Tuesday, July 8th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Founded in 1994, Swing Shift was the amalgamation of refugees from several area bands, including the Bob Louis Big Band, the Kingsmen, Bifocals, Central Heat, the Redskins Band, and the Post-Nuclear Jazz Society. Since its formation, this hard swinging band has been rocking such varied venues the Corcoran Art Gallery, the Kennedy Center, the Washington Hilton, the Fairfax Elks Lodge, and the Sterling Golf and Swim Club. Swing Shift also plays regularly at Blues Alley, Washington D.C.'s premiere jazz club.
