MATINEE CABARET TODAY IN PALM SPRINGS: NICOLE DILLENBERG COMES TO PALM DESERT WITH ALICE FAYE TRIBUTE
Singer Nicole Dillenberg will star in "Yes To You", a one-woman cabaret style concert that pays tribute to Hollywood star Alice Faye at THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER (73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731) on Sunday, April 13th at 2:00 pm. The show's title comes from a song sung by 19-year-old Alice in "365 Hollywood Nights" and was also used in the 2008 film soundtrack of "Yes Man" starring Jim Carrey. This show was postponed from last June when Ms. Dillenberg became stranded in Santa Barbara when her flight was cancelled after performing this show there the night before. "Yes To You" features stories about Alice Faye's career and personal life including marriages to Phil Harris and Tony Martin, and songs from her movie musicals such as "You'll Never Know". Ms. Faye started as a chorus girl in "The George White Scandals" before signing with 20th Century Fox, becoming one of Hollywood's biggest stars of the 30's and 40's. She co-starred with Tyrone Power, Jack Haley, Dick Powell, and even Shirley Temple in films like "Hello Frisco, Hello", "Rose Of Washington Square" and "Alexander's Ragtime Band. Ms. Faye lived in Rancho Mirage and passed away May 9, 1998 at the age of 83. Joining Nicole will be Bryan Miller on the piano and is presented by Les Michaels Life Is A Cabaret Sundays In Summer Series. Tickets are $11 and will be sold at the box office, which opens at 1:00 pm.
