Mat Helm Utopiatemple presents CITY, a concept album, at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, April 13th at 9:30 pm. New York City is quite a concept and the experiences shared night and day here are truly transcendent. As we take our thoughts with us the sheer magnitude of diversity "inside the maze and beneath the towers" leaves us ever trying to define it's sights and sounds. City sparked the imagination toward the 16 vignettes composed and recorded on a 1913 Steinway Grand Piano by Steven Stratvert, Saxophone & Flute by Peter Ellison Creekmore, and Classical Guitar and Vocals by Mat Helm. If you fancy an illustratively poetic musical journey uptown and down the streets of New York City, you will enjoy this performance. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
