LONDON: CLAIRE MARTIN AND JOE STILGOE AT CRAZY COQS - CLOSING NIGHT
Claire Martin and Joe Stilgoe return to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday through Saturday, April 15th through 19th with their new show APRIL IN PARIS, celebrating the most romantic city in the world. From Gershwin to Cole Porter, Charles Trenet to Maurice Chevalier, with detours to Joni Mitchell, Jacques Brel and Bernie Taupin, this Parisian programme will be a whirl of French glitz, glamour and Gauloises. Claire Martin needs little introduction. To worldwide critical acclaim she has established herself as a tour de force on the UK jazz scene, gaining many awards, including winning the British Jazz Awards six times. Claire has toured extensively throughout the UK, Scandinavia, Russia and China, appearing with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and her world-class trio. She has been awarded an OBE for her Services to Jazz. Joe Stilgoe is one of the world's finest singer-pianists, touring constantly with his band and as a solo act, having appeared at jazz clubs and festivals around the world. Last summer he made his solo debut at the Edinburgh Fringe where his show One Hour! was a sell-out and critically acclaimed. His 2013 single Abracadabra shot to the top of the Jazz Charts.
LONDON: LATE NIGHT JAZZ AT CRAZY COQS: REMI HARRIS TRIO
The Remi Harris Trio will perform at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Saturday, April 19th at 10:30 pm as part of the club's Late Night Jazz series. The group is a young contemporary gypsy jazz trio featuring the guitar of Remi Harris, playing an exciting selection of jazz, swing and bebop standards, original compositions and popular melodies. Still in his early 20s and having already played with the likes of John Etheridge, Gary Potter and Tina May, Remi is fast becoming known as one of the UK's top gypsy jazz guitar players. LONDON: STEPHANIE O'BRIEN AT THE PHEASANTRY
Stephanie O'Brien will perform on Saturday, April 19th at 8:30 pm at THE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017). Stephanie has a colourful history; from her time as singer in London close harmony trio The Puppini Sisters, to collaborations with Michael Buble and Carole King, she is one to keep busy. A singer/ songwriter, it is her work as a solo act in which she flourishes. Her songs dance the line between the heart-warming and heart-breaking, delivered in her unique blend of jazz, pop and folk.
