Jenny is a woman of many colors with passions in both the musical and healing arts. Jenny is a classically trained pianist and began vocal training at 14 years old. As a high school youth, she performed in local community centers as well as Avery Fischer and Alice Tully Halls at Lincoln Center as part of a Hazamir choir. Simultaneously, Jenny was developing a love for the study of the human body and mind through method acting, movement work, nutrition and medicine. She studied in intensive programs at Circle in the Square Theater School and Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute and received a BS at Columbia University in Neuroscience and Behavior. She sang in an a cappella group Nonsequitur and performed in college campuses around the country. Nonsequitur also graced the stage in an off-Broadway production of Toxic Audio. MANHATTAN: THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND
After sold out runs in 2009 & 2010, Thank You For Being A Friend returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) for its third limited-run engagement. Performances are Thursday & Friday, April 3rd & 4th at 7:00 pm & Sunday, April 6th at 9:30 pm. This unauthorized musical parody inspired by the beloved TV sitcom "The Golden Girls," features book by Nick Brennan, music by Jeff Thomson, and lyrics by Luke Jones and Cisco Cardenas. In the show four women over 60 (Blanchette, the varicose-veined vixen; Dorthea, the brainy ball-buster; Roz, the lovable airhead; and Sophie, the wisecracking spitfire) are spending their golden years together in a wicker-filled bungalow in Miami. But when gay pop superstar Ricky Martin moves next door, his loud outdoor sex parties keep the quartet of cheesecake-loving retirees awake. The solution pits the gays against the girls at the annual Shady Oaks Retirement Home Talent Show: if the women win, then no more sex parties; if the gays garner top prize, the sassy seniors must serve as the party's clean-up crew. Singing, dancing and hilarity ensues! This newly revised production will feature original cast members Chad Ryan, Luke Jones, and Nick Brennan with newcomer John De Los Santos. The production team features Jonathan Pennington (Director), Cisco Cardanez (Assistant Director/Stage Manager), John De Los Santos (Choreographer), Luke Jones and Nick Brennan (Set Design), Timothy Hart (Lighting), Jessa-Raye Court (Costumes) and Doug Repetti (Sound). There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum. Reservations at https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/929670
