CABARET TONIGHT IN SAN FRANCISCO: CARA AURATUS TRIO WITH "TWO SONGS WALKED INTO A BAR"
The Cara Auratus Trio brings their show "Two Songs Walked Into a Bar" to MARTUNI'S (4 Valencia Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-241-0205) on Sunday, March 30th at 7:00 pm. A song's lyric, tune and era create a person, with all the desires and quirks of anyone you know. Dropped into a bar on a Saturday night, some would be hooking up, some drinking heavily, some fighting in the back alley. Drawing on the rich tapestry of jazz music from the Prohibition era to present time, Cara has captured some of these song pairings for her upcoming album. In a voice where silk meets smoke, she will be singing them as MARCH CABARET MONTH draws to a close. Accompanied by a great musical team: Tom Disher, an emmy award winning composer and pianist, and Chris Amberger, a bass player who has toured Europe with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, and toured the US with Rosemary Clooney. There is a $10 cover.
