CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: LOU PALLO & GARY MAZZAROPPI AT THE IRIDIUM
Lou Pallo & Gary Mazzaroppi, with Special Guests Joe Louis Walker & Murali Coryell, perform at THE IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB (1650 Broadway, NYC - 212-582-2121) on Monday, December 2nd at 9:00 pm. In 1984, Les and Lou along with bassist Gary Mazzaroppi formed the Les Paul Trio and took their show to NYC, working every Monday night at Fat Tuesdays nite club. Twelve years later, the weekly performaces moved to the Iridium Jazz Club. Through the years, the Trio was also highlighted at notable venues including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the House of Blues. Lou Paloo remained the only constant in Les Paul's Trio up until Les passed away in 2009. Gary Mazzaroppi attended Berklee School of Music, where he earned his Bachelor of Music in music education. After graduating, Mazzaroppi toured extensively with the Lionel Hampton Big Band for five years. Since then, he has accompanied many jazz artists including Red Norvo, Herb Ellis, Stan Getz, Joe Morello, Buddy Rich, Jim Hall, Barney Kessel, Clark Terry, Charlie Byrd, and Mark O'Connor. Mazzaroppi has performed from Carnegie Hall and Blue Note in New York to Tanglewood in Massachusetts to Capri, Italy. He continues to share his knowledge by teaching and mentoring students, both in college classrooms and private lessons. There is a $35 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
