CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: SINGER/SONGWRITER TROY DEAN AT THE IRIDIUM
Troy Dean, a singer-songwriter from Allentown, PA. will appear at IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB (1650 Broadway, NYC - 212-582-2121) on Thursday, August 22nd with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Dean attended William Allen High School, where he decided to pursue a career in music. He grew up surrounded by great music, exposed to classic artists, especially Elvis Presley, via his grandparents' record collection. They took him many times to see performances at the historic Grand Old Opry. Dean's mother, herself the leadsinger of a band for several years, taught him how to sing. In 2005, Dean took his talent to NYC, meeting with Randy Witherspoon of Mopptopp Records who quickly put Dean in the studio and invited him to join the Project Youth Initiative, an opportunity for young, undiscovered talent. Today, Dean is living in New York City and heavily active in New York's music scene. He's performed at popular venues such as The Red Lion and Ella Lounge, and he frequents open mic nights throughout the city. He has recorded three new singles, acoustic ballads, at Metaphonic Studios. "Catch Me," "Penny," and "Hell or High Water" are currently available on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play. Troy Dean is an independent and unsigned artist. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
