CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: ENDANGERED SPECIES: THE MUSIC OF WAYNE SHORTER

DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) presents Endangered Species: The Music of Wayne Shorter on Thursday through Sunday, August 22nd through Sunday, August 25th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. This CD Release event coincides with Wayne Shorter's 80th birthday. Endangered Species: The Music of Wayne Shorter is a twelve-piece band devoted to reimagining and approaching Shorter's music the way he does, as an ever-changing, ever-evolving body of work. Band members include Tim Green, Alto Sax; Marcus Strickland, Tenor and Soprano Sax; J.D. Allen, Tenor Sax; Norbert Stachel, Baritone Sax and Bass Clarinet; Elliot Mason and Joe Fiedler, Trombone; Jeremy Pelt and Augie Hass, Trumpet; Geri Allen (Aug 22-23), Xavier Davis (Aug 24-25), Piano; Dwayne Burno, Bass; Nate Smith, Drums. The music spans nearly half a century of Shorter's prolific career. There is a $35-$45 cover.
