S.CAL CABARET PICK: A LOVE SONG TO GILDA RADNER STARRING FRANCESCA AMARI - A WINNER!

You Make Me Laugh! A Love Song to Gilda Radner starring Francesca Amari will be presented at MARTINI'S ABOVE FOURTH (3940 Fourth Avenue, Suite 200, San Diego, CA - 619-400-4500 - ) on Thursday, July 28th at 8:00 pm. A portion of the proceeds to be donated to A.W.O.L (A Way of Life After Breast Cancer). "You Make Me Laugh: A Love Song to Gilda Radner" is a musical biography of the brilliant comedienne, Gilda Radner, her life, her loves, her peeves, her rise to stardom, her marriage to Gene Wilder, and her brave battle with cancer, all lovingly and laughingly told through song and Gilda's own words. The music is a mixture of songs from the Great American Songbook, Broadway, the Cabaret world, and even includes some Country Music selections. With Kevin Cavanaugh on piano. Popular cabaret vocalist Francesca Amari created a new cabaret show which debuted in March, 2011 at a 10-day laugh festival called "Gilda's LaughFest", which included such luminaries as Bill Cosby, Betty White, Margaret Cho and more. Amari developed the show with the input of nationally-renowned cabaret star Andrea Marcovicci, known as the Queen of Cabaret, who served as her creative consultant. The show highlights moments of Gilda's fascinating life. Much of the material comes from Gilda's autobiography, It's Always Something and her Saturday Night Live writing partner and friend, Alan Zweibel's account of their relationship, Bunny Bunny. Call for cover/minimum information.
