NYC: ANNIE KOZUCH RELEASES NEW CD AT STAGE 72 TONIGHT
Annie Kozuch will release her new CD Mostly Jobim with three performances atSTAGE 72 (formerly THE TRIAD (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590)on Thursdays, May 29th & June 6th, and Wednesday, July 10th, all shows at 7:00 pm. Three years after her acclaimed debut recording Here With You, the outstanding vocal stylist Annie Kozuch has released a marvelous second album Mostly Jobim. Returning from her first CD are bassist and drummer Saadi Zain and Vito Lesczak, flautist/ tenor saxophonist Cecilia Tenconi; and most significantly, Annie's musical director and pianist, Frank Ponzio, who arranged all of the pieces on this delightful album. Joining into the festivities are acoustic guitarist Sean Harkness and Brazilian percussionist Edson Aparecido da Silva. For her CD release shows at STAGE 72, Ms. Kozuch will be accompanied by Frank Ponzio - piano & musical director, Saadi Zain - bass; Vito Lesczak - drums, Cecilia Tenconi - sax/flute, and Samuel Torres - percussion. Ms. Kozuch, whose extensive background in theater, film and television is further enhanced by her multi-lingual skills, has performed as a vocalist around the world, from clubs and concert halls throughout the U.S. to being a featured soloist with the Tokyo Symphony. On Mostly Jobim, she brings her full palette of artistry to this lovely exposition of one of the world's most beloved and influential composers, Antonio Carlos (Tom) Jobim. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
