TONIGHT AT STAGE 72 NYC: ERIC COMSTOCK & BARBARA FASANO CELEBRATING SAMMY CAHN ON HIS 100TH BIRTHDAY
2013 MAC Award winners Eric Comstock & Barbara Fasano, with special guest Jeff Harnar, celebrate the centennial of one of the great craftsmen of American song, Sammy Cahn, on his actual birthday, at STAGE 72 - formerly THE TRIAD (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) on Tuesday, June 18th at 7:00 pm. Sammy Cahn (1913-93) received four Academy Awards during a brilliant career that encompassed Hollywood, Broadway, and the golden era of American popular music. Among Cahn's hits are "All The Way," "Call Me Irresponsible," "Three Coins In The Fountain," "High Hopes", and "Come Fly With Me." Cahn's collaborators included James Van Heusen, Jule Styne, Vernon Duke, Saul Chaplin, Lew Spence, and others. Pianist/singer/arranger Comstock is no stranger to the Cahn songbook, having starred in the long-running Off-Broadway hit OUR SINATRA, which he co-wrote. Fasano brings a soulful approach to material ranging from Harold Arlen to Joni Mitchell. Her performances and recordings have won her three Backstage Bistro awards, three MAC awards and a New York Nightlife award. Harnar has several recordings to his credit, including SAMMY CAHN ALL THE WAY. His numerous awards as vocalist include the 2012 Noel Coward Foundation Award. All three artists headline at concert halls and cabarets coast to coast and abroad. Entertaining as well as musically savvy, these friends combine their individual talents for this ONE NIGHT ONLY performance of "RAT PACK POET". There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
