TODAY IN NYC: "WHISTLING AWAY THE DARK" WITH SHANA FARR
Shana Farr returns toFEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095) on Tuesday & Wednesday, August 10th & 11th at 8:30 pm to celebrate Julie Andrews, in her brand new show "Whistling Away The Dar." In creating her new show, Shana gives personal interpretations to many of the famous - and some lesser known - songs associated with Ms. Andrews to help tell her own personal experiences in life. The show includes classic songs by Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner & Loewe, Henry Mancini, Noel Coward and other notable composers and lyricists, as well as the operatic aria - "The Polonaise" from Mignon. Guided by director Eric Michael Gillett and music director Fred Barton, Shana has created a highly entertaining show that captures the essence of one of her favorite performers and how these musical numbers have provided inspiration to her as she pursues her own dreams. There is a $24-$40 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
