PALM SPRINGS: JUDY TENUTA "BIRTHDAY BASH" AT THE COPA

Judy Tenuta celebrates her birthday at THE COPA (244 East Amado Road, Palm Springs CA - 760-866-0021 - http://www.copapalmsprings.com ) on Friday & Saturday, November 21st & 22nd at 8:00 pm. Judy is a triple threat in the sense that she has strong stage, television, comedy and film credits with a large fan base. Judy's stand-up routine is appropriately described as outrageous, mind-blowing comedy. She recently became an ordained minister, and converts her audiences to her signature religion, "Judyism". A strong advocate for gays, children and women's issues, the fun-loving feminist preaches that all women should be worshipped as "Love Goddesses!". Call for cover/minimum information.

LOS ANGELES: LISA SOLIS, "UNPLUGGED"

Lisa Solis, a Latin American singer born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, performs her show "Unplugged" at THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444) on Friday & Saturday, November 21st & 22nd at 9:00 pm. Ms. Solis has performed at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, at fundraisers for Children's Hospital, and as a featured soloist at other venues in the Los Angeles area, generally with a five-piece band and two backup singers. Departing from this format, she brings her artistry to a new level by releasing her more intimate, personal, and emotionally revealing side, courageously stripping down to raw, bare vocals using only musical director Steven Applegate for support. Call for cover/minimum information.

SAN FRANCISCO: FREDDY COLE AT FEINSTEIN'S

Considered one of the most influential singers in jazz music throughout the world, FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063) is honored to welcome Freddy Cole for two performances only, on Thursday & Friday, November 20th & 21st at 8:00 pm. Freddy Cole grew up in a musical household and remembers important visitors at his home including Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Lionel Hampton. Freddy doesn't apologize for sounding like his brother, Nat "King" Cole, there are several similarities with his music style. Freddy's voice is raspier, smokier, and perhaps even jazzier. His vocals are suave, elegant, formidable, and articulate. Freddy plays the piano, sings, and performs with guitar and upright bass- just like his bother Nat. There is a $40-$55 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.
