SAN FRANCISCO: THE LAST SOUTHERN GENTLEMEN TOUR AT YOSHI'S

For the first time, a pairing of father Ellis Marsalis, Jr. with son and trombone master Delfeayo Marsalis will take place at YOSHI'S (1330 Fillmore Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-655-5600) on Wednesday, September 17th at 8:00 pm. The Last Southern Gentlemen is a landmark recording for Delfeayo Marsalis - for the first time, a pairing of father Ellis Marsalis, Jr. with Delfeayo on a collaborative album. This concert will feature songs from the album including both standards and original compositions. Built on the intimacy of American ballads and the trombone's expressive mimicry of the human voice, The Last Southern Gentlemen is a firm acknowledgement of the existence and importance of these sweet, gentle sounds. There is a $39 cover.

SAN FRANCISCO: TOM REARDON: "AS I WAS SINGING"

After selling out his previous solo engagements ("Who I'd Be," "What's Love Got to Do With It?" and "It's Later Than You Think"), Tom Reardon's back at FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063) on Wednesday, September 17th at 8:00 pm as part of the clubs "City Singers" series with a few more thoughts on life and love. "As I Was Singing" marks his debut at San Francisco's premier cabaret nightclub, Feinstein's at the Hotel Nikko. Don't miss this latest installment of Tom's unique story and song stylings. There is a $15 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
