LONDON: SALLY ANN TRIPLETT WITH ELEPHANTS TO BROADWAY AND BACK AGAIN
Sally Ann Triplett makes a welcome return to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) with her show "Elephants To Broadway And Back Again" on Tuesday through Saturday, July 7th through 11th at 8:00 pm. Triplett takes a journey through her colourful career, from her appearance at The Eurovision Song Contest in 1980 to the West End, where she starred in Cats, Chicago, Mamma Mia, Guys & Dolls and many more, as well as her award-winning performance in Anything Goes at the Royal National Theatre and Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Elsewhere she has appeared in stage productions including Rags, Oliver! Snoopy and Cabaret, as well as her one-woman cabaret show at London's Pizza on the Park. Triplett started her career as a professional circus performer, transferring to musical theatre in light of her impressive singing skills. Earlier this year Triplett appeared in the Broadway show The Last Ship, playing the wife of Sting, who also wrote the music and lyrics. She will shortly be starring in A Damsel in Distress at Chichester Festival Theatre. Call for cover/minimum information.
LONDON: LATE NIGHT JAZZ AT THE CRAZY COQS WITH JAY RAYNER
The renowned restaurant critic, Masterchef judge and sometime jazz pianist Jay Rayner returns to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL(20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Saturdays, July 4th & 11th at 10:30 pm with The Jay Rayner Quartet: Hungry Jazz, an ensemble of top flight musicians performing ninety minutes of tunes from the Great American food and drink songbook as part of the club's Late Night Jazz Series. There will be standards from the likes of Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, Blossom Dearie and Dave Frishberg, alongside anecdotes from his life eating out on somebody else's dime. Jay will also share stories about growing up with a mother, Claire Rayner, who was a sex advice columnist. Jay is joined on the 4th by Charlie Pyne on bass, Dave Lewis on sax, with vocals by Pat Gordon Smith. Call for cover/minimum information.
LONDON: JUDIE TZUKE - SONGS AND STORIES AT THE PHEASANTRY
Judie Tzuke comes to THE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Friday through Sunday, July 10th through 12th at 8:30 pm for a very special gig; she will be performing acoustically as part of her 'Songs and Stories' experience. This promises to be an intimate evening of old favourites and new songs and tales from across her life and career. Judie Tzuke is one of the UK's finest Singer/ Songwriters and is known all over the world for her timeless song, 'Stay With Me Till Dawn', with many top 10 albums, including the revered classic, 'Welcome to the Cruise' and her exquisite live shows.
