NYC: RAY DEFOREST: GURL TALK AT MAMA'S

Marty Madden and Double D productions bring Award winning entertainer and actress, Doris Dear to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Monday, July 6th at 7:00 pm. Dear, seen on countless stages around the globe and in movies & TV shows like "The Carrie Diaries", "Boardwalk Empire" & "The Normal Heart", is "in residence" at "Don't Tell Mama's"! After her smash success debut cabaret last fall at Stage 72, she is once again with the award winning team of director Lina Koutrakos, musical director Rick Jensen and Tom Hubbard on bass. "Doris Dear's Gurl Talk, the Rumpus Room Edition" will be taking the stage at Don't Tell Mama's starting on March 9th at 9:15pm. Each show will welcome a very special guest star into the "Rumpus Room". On July 6th, the special guest will be the award-winning Sean Harkness. Growing up in the suburbs and becoming the perfect Housewife has always been Doris' dream, but dreams don't always work out the way we plan, or do they! There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: ANTHONY LOGAN COLE: YOU'VE HUNGERED FOR THIS ALL YOUR LIFE

The good, the bad, and the Broadway share equal billing in the NY debut of Anthony Logan Cole at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Monday, July 6th at 9:30 pm. Cole (Les Miserables, Jekyll and Hyde, Beauty and the Beast) joins with Megan Larsen (South Pacific, Les Miserables, Carousel), Tim Larsen (Les Miserables, South Pacific, Macbeth) and Musical Director Steven Hunter Taylor (South Pacific, Les Miserables) for the NY debut of 'You've Hungered For This All Your Life,' which recently had an acclaimed run at the Coronado Playhouse in San Diego, CA. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: METROPOLITAN ROOM'S 8TH ANNUAL METROSTAR TALENT CHALLENGE

The opening night of the Metropolitan Room's 8th Annual MetroStar Talent Challenge will take place at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Monday, July 6th at 7:00 pm. "MetroStar" encourages singers to present well-rounded stage performances in which creativity, innovation and authenticity are prized over vocal fireworks. Open to solo singers and vocal duos of all ages, backgrounds and styles who have not played a major engagement at the Metropolitan Room, which is defined as a 4-show prime-time run of the same show in a fixed period. "MetroStar" offers a career-boosting package of prizes and professional encouragements, including a fully produced primetime Met Room engagement and live recording. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: "IN WINE, TRUTH." AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

"In Wine, Truth" ("In Vino Veritas") will be presented at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Monday, July 6th at 9:30 pm. "In Wine, Truth" isn't a standard theatrical experience. A bell rings. An attractive stranger sits across from you and your friends. "In Vino Veritas" is directed by Giacomo Rocchini and produced by Janine Lee Papio in association with CloseUp NYC. NYC: TASTISKANK WITH SARAH LITZSINGER & KATE REINDERS

After spending some time on opposite coasts, the artists jointly known as TASTiSKANK - Broadway's Sarah Litzsinger (Beauty and the Beast, Amour) and Kate Reinders (currently Something Rotten, Wicked, Gypsy) are bringing their sexy back to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Tuesday, July 6th at 7:00 pm. Winners of the Breakout Award for Best Live Performance at the 2007 HBO Aspen Comedy Festival, they were also named two of The New York Post's 25 Sexiest New Yorkers. They have headlined at Ars Nova, Joe's Pub, New York's UCB and performed at the TBS Comedy Festival in Las Vegas. There is a $25-$50 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: THE SONGS OF LEE, LONG & BURNS: THE OPPOSITE OF COOL

Jonathan Lee, Justin Anthony Long, Joanna Burns, a small village of Broadway stars and amazing guest performers will present a night of hilarious musical theater at 54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday, July 6th at 9:30 pm. With the help of their friends, the writer/ performer trio will perform and present songs from their original new musical comedy, Welcome to Shoofly (NYMF Next Link finalist), their hit musical web-series, City of Dreams (The New York Times, USA Today, Playbill.com, BroadwayWorld.com) and some brand-spankin' new original tunes that will have your toes-a-tappin' and your brains wondering in awe. Long & Lee wrote Take Out (Top 10 Asian American Film Lab 72-Hour Film Shootout), and concept, book and lyrics for Cookie Soiree (2014 Audience Choice Award for Best Musical at Sound Bites). Lee, Long & Burns started writing together back in 2012 when they penned original songs for City of Dreams. The Opposite of Cool is their NYC debut concert. NYC: JOE'S PUB PRESENTS "AN EVENING WITH DAVID BRONSON"

David Bronson, who recently released his third album Questions (Big Arc Records), performs at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) in "An Evening with David Bronson" on Monday, July 6th at 7:30 pm. The record has been hailed by fans and press alike as one of the best albums to emerge in 2015, and as a momentous artistic step from an up-and-coming talent. The singer-songwriter, who has called New York City his home for his entire adult life, teamed up with veteran producer Godfrey Diamond (Lou Reed, Etta James, Aerosmith) and longtime David Bowie collaborators Carlos Alomar and Robin Clark to create a soul-drenched paean to the uncertainties of burgeoning adulthood. It's a deceptively fluid amalgam of soul, gospel, folk, and dance-funk grafted on to the classic 70's-infused singer-songwriting Bronson has become known for. The evening will include the world premiere of an original short film showing the story of the album's creation, in addition to a full set with David and the Questions band. The event will be hosted by NYC-based journalist and music historian Christian John Wikane. There is a $15 cover.

NYC: LEVI LOWREY AT JOE'S PUB

Born in Dacula, GA, Levi Lowrey has always known that his heart was made for music. He will be appearing at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Monday, July 6th at 9:30 pm. His great, great, great-grandfather, Gid Tanner, was a fiddle player in the Skillet Lickers band during the 1920s and 30s, and was one of the first artists to ever sell a million records. Lowrey began performing when he was 12 years old and has forged a veritable path of success ever since. As co-writer on Zac Brown Band's CMA Awards nominated song, "Colder Weather," Lowrey's signature style of poignant honesty, both dark and light, acts like a salve for kindred souls. Drawing inspiration from the struggles and triumphs of his own life, Lowrey lays his heart on his sleeve, reassuring us that we're not alone. There is a $12 cover.

NYC: NATALIE DOUGLAS PRESENTS "HELLO DOLLY - THE MUSIC OF DOLLY PARTON"

The Broadway at Birdland concert series presents the return of singer Natalie Douglas to BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Monday, April 20th at 7:00 pm. He show, "Hello Dolly: The Music of Dolly Parton", is a celebration of the beloved singer, actor, and songwriter. Natalie Douglas is a celebrated vocalist and host of the Sunday night Birdland Jazz Party. She returns to the historic room after a smashing NYC September debut of this show, and a triumphant weeklong run in London. Douglas brings back this popular program, in which she pays tribute to another notably buxom performer: the beloved singer, actor, songwriter and Broadway composer Dolly Parton. Featured music includes original Parton compositions like "Jolene", "Coat of Many Colors", and "I Just Might" from the Broadway musical 9 to 5, in addition to tunes Dolly creatively covered like Neil Young "After The Gold Rush" and Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice." Natalie will be joined by her longtime Musical Director Mark Hartman (Broadway's Avenue Q, Sondheim on Sondheim) on piano, accordion and mandolin, and her talented band of Broadway All-Stars. Natalie Douglas, the seven-time MAC Award Winner and has garnered rave reviews for her unique blend of jazz, blues, standards, pop, folk and country music. In November, Natalie enjoyed her third weeklong run in less than two years at her London concert home, The Crazy Coqs. As an actor, she has appeared in 18 editions of The A-train plays at the Neighborhood Playhouse, The Peter Sharp Theatre and New World Stages and in The People vs. Mona, by the writers of Pumpboys & Dinettes. There is a $30 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.

NYC: JIM CARUSO'S "CAST PARTY" MONDAYS AT BIRDLANDFEATURED OPEN MIC EVENT

Every Monday night at 9:30 pm, Broadway impresario Jim Caruso hosts "Cast Party", a combination open-mic, networking event and party at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) during which the biggest stars on Broadway relax on their night off by performing their favorite songs in an informal setting. Cast Party is a mix of music, impromptu performance and cocktail party revelry, where showbiz superstars, stunning jazz talents and cabaret glitterati hit the stage alongside up-and-comers to serve up jaw-dropping music and general razzle-dazzle.
