LONDON: CHRISTIAN HOLDER with AT HOME AND ABROAD
Following his sell-out debut, Christian Holder is back at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Friday & Saturday, June 5th & 6th at 8:00 pm with AT HOME AND ABROAD, a thrilling evening of song and unpredictable theatrical stories. British born Holder is no stranger to the stage. Performing since the age of four, the theatre, in all its forms, has always been his home. Holder made a name for himself in New York and internationally as a leading dancer with the world-renowned Joffrey Ballet in the 60s and 70s. Now back on his home turf, AT HOME AND ABROAD marks Holder's debut as a singer and charts his epic theatrical journey over the years - expect songs by Cole Porter, Noel Coward, Stephen Sondheim, Peter Allen and Rodgers & Hart, plus some of his own compositions. As well as singing and dancing, Holder has choreographed numerous ballet productions all over the world and has even designed costumes for the likes of Ann Reinking and Tina Turner. LONDON: IAN SHAW CELEBRATES SINGER-SONGWRITERS
Ian Shaw celebrates the great singer-songwriters from Leiber & Stoller, the Beatles, Carol King and Joni Mitchell to Elton John, David Bowie and Amy Winehouse in his show at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Saturday, June 6th at 10:30 as part of the club's Late Night Jazz Series. Described as one of the most distinctive, original and creative jazz singers on the scene, Shaw is also a talented pianist and songwriter. Twice voted 'Best Jazz Vocalist' at the BBC Jazz Awards, nominated for a JazzFM award and with more than a dozen albums to his name, he is much in demand as the featured soloist with big bands and orchestras both in the UK and internationally, as well as pairing with the likes of Guy Barker, Liane Carroll and Claire Martin. LONDON: FASCINATING AIDA'S DILLIE KEANE IN CABARET
Dillie Keane takes a short break from her Fascinating Aida gal pals to present her first solo show in 557 years at THE PHEASANTRY(152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Tuesday through Sunday, June 2nd through 7th at 8:30 pm. With some brand new songs, some grand old favourites, gorgeous songs of love and songs of disgraceful filth, Dillie will break your heart, mend it again and have it sent to the cleaners for pressing. And she'll give you her recipe for chutney while she's at it. Dillie will be accompanied on the piano by the very young but very talented Sam Cable. Call for cover/minimum information.
