Jazz/ cabaret vocalist Mary Foster Conklin performs on Friday nights at MOSCOW57 ON DELANCEY (168 1/2 Delancey Street, NYC - 212-260-5775) at 8:00 pm. on Friday, January 30th the club celebrated its one year anniversary on the corner where Loisaida meets the Williamsburg Bridge. Owned by Ellen Kaye, singer/ pioneer/ force of nature, who nightly hosts the best party in town with a rotating group of artistsecalls it Hobohemia - A Rendezvous of Strangers. NYC: THE L-TRAIN STARRING LOUIS VANARIA AND LUCY CARACAPPA
The New York City cabaret duo, The L-Train, is coming to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, June 5th at 7:00 pm. The L-Train, featuring vocalists Louis Vanaria and Lucy Caracappa, will be performing toe tapping renditions of some of your favorite duets and heartwarming pop and theater solos from a range of artists such as Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, Streisand, Buble, Cher, Sinatra and more! Louis Vanaria is a television/movie actor/vocalist whose credits include A Bronx Tale (role of Crazy Mario), recurring roles on TV's Person of Interest, Boardwalk Empire and a role in the upcoming film Friends and Romans starring Michael Rispoli and Annabella Sciora. Louis has performed cabaret at Foxwoods Casino with Jay Leno and Connie Francis and at the 4 Triple 5 Cafe in Niagara Falls. Lucy Caracappa is an accomplished vocalist who performs with club date acts such as The Tony T Orchestra and has graced numerous stages including New York's Empire City Casino and Florida's Empire Stage. She is also a comedic actress and improve performer with Murder Mystery Manhattan and has performed in many musical theater productions such as THE KING AND I as Tuptim and in KISMET as Lalume. The L-Train will perform with the live musicians of The Tony T. Orchestra with Tony Traina himself on the drums, a seasoned Broadway musician. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Dorothy Bishop brings her 'Dozen Divas Show to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, June 5th at 9:30 pm. The show is directed by John Paolillo and written by Dorothy Bishop and James Jorden. A Yale trained soprano, Dorothy's incredible versatility and outrageous sense of humor landed her as a finalist on America's got Talent Season 4. She has headlined and emcee'd events all over the world including Soloist at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops, First Broadway National Tour of Master Class (Starring Faye Dunaway) Her own headline act (Viva la Diva) on the world's top luxury liners - Queen Mary 2, Royal Caribbean, Regent Seven Seas, and is presently touring with her own musical comedy The Dozen Divas Show. NYC: SPARK! - WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT?
Cabelle St. John brings her show 'SPARK! - What do you really want?' to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Friday, June 5th at 9:30 pm, along with guests Kim Johansen and Hannah Hershman. Music Director is Alexander Crosett. Cabelle St. John made her New York debut at Carnegie Hall's Isaac Stern Auditorium in 2004. She has performed Musical Theater and Operatic roles throughout the United States, Europe and Latin America. She was recently chosen to present the unaccompanied experimental vocal theatre piece COCAINE LIL by the composer Nancy Van de Vate in Boston. A versatile artist, she is noted for her show-stopping high notes, expansive vocal range and extraordinary ability with the music of Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Norwegian bass-baritone Kim Johansen graduated with his Master of Voice and Professional Studies Certificate from the Manhattan School of Music. This season he will be seen in the song cycle CHAIRS by Josh Kight, OKAYCUPID THE MUSICAL, and as Kevin Callahan in the feature film COMMON INTEREST. Musical Theater credits include Moving Right Along, Side By Side, Lady In The Dark, Into The Woods and Les Miserables. Hannah Hershman is a board-certified music therapist in the city with a love for musical theater. Growing up in Chicago, Hannah was always passionate about musicals and had a flair for the dramatic! She attended Berklee College of Music in Boston to receive her BA in music therapy but couldn't stay away from the theater - she played the role of Penny in their production of HAIRSPRAY and understudied the role of Velma in CHICAGO. NYC: THE VAUDEVILLIANS: BRINGING UP BABY
After selling out an often-extended Off-Broadway run in 2013 (which attracted the likes of Neil Patrick Harris, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Joan Rivers, RuPaul and SNL's Kate McKinnon), a national tour, a 3-month Australian tour (where she was nominated for the Aussie equivalent of a Tony Award), and a summer run in Provincetown, RuPaul's Drag Race favorite Jinkx Monsoon will return to New York with the World Premiere of THE VAUDEVILLIANS: BRINGING UP BABY, a new musical comedy co-starring composer and musician Major Scales. This limited engagement begins performances May 21st at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909). Performances are on Wednesday & Friday, June 3rd & 5th at 7:00 pm. Dr. Dan and Kitty Witless were put on ice in the Twenties, and had their entire music catalogue purloined by today's pop artists. Now the hottest act ever frozen alive is back again, with more swinging hits from their stolen songbook! There's only one problem: Kitty's "in a family way" and no one's quite sure where the kid came from. Can The Vaudevillians still put on a show while bringing up baby? Major Scales is the evil twin of Richard Andriessen, a musician, writer and performer based in Seattle. He has written everything from award-winning New York shows on the east coast to music for amateur adult films on the west. Jinkx Monsoon is the alter ego of Jerick Hoffer, who graduated with a degree in theatrical performance from Cornish College in Seattle. With ten years experience on stage, Hoffer is a seasoned Portland-born entertainer who has captured the attention of his native northwest region. As early as 2006, Hoffer appeared as the lead dancer in the world's largest drag queen chorus line, which made the Guinness Book of World Records. By 2012, he had advanced to roles in Seattle theaters, playing Moritz in "Spring Awakening" (produced by Balagan Theatre), Angel in "Rent" (produced by The 5th Avenue Theatre), and Hedwig in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" (produced by Balagan Theatre and Seattle Theatre Group). In 2014 he was nominated for the Helpmann Award (alongside the likes of Cate Blanchett, Ivo Van Hove, Denis O'Hare and Baz Luhrmann), the Australian equivalent of a Tony, for his performanace in The Vaudevillians. Drag star MISS RICHFIELD 1981 returns to New York to premiere CONE OF SILENCE! at THE CUTTING ROOM(44 East 32nd Street, NYC - 212-691-1900). Written and directed by Russ King, performances are Thursday & Friday, June 4th & 5th at 7:30 pm. In her new show, CONE OF SILENCE!, Miss Richfield 1981 opens the discussion up to all forbidden topics: family problems, medical issues, politics, religion.You are only as sick as your secrets, so when she lowers the Cone of Silence, anything goes. Anything! With a unique combination of Midwestern sensibilities and off-the-page humor, MISS RICHFIELD 1981 has quickly become one of America's most beloved drag stars. Her rich history begins with a life-long goal of being crowned beauty queen of her first-ring suburb of Minneapolis (hometown of her creator, Russ King). Since winning the title of Miss Richfield in 1981, she has continued to promote the values and principles of Richfield, Minnesota. As well as performing sell-out performances throughout the country, Miss R has earned a reputation as one of the most successful acts in Provincetown (along with Varla Jean Merman and Dina Martina). Miss Richfield's national appeal includes riotous appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", "Today" on NBC, "Cake Boss" on TLC, and, most recently, as a television spokesperson for Orbitz and the City of Philadelphia. Tony and Golden Globe winner Linda Lavin takes the stage at 54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Thursday through Saturday, June 4th through 6th at 7:00 pm, performing Broadway favorites, standards, jazz, and even some songs she learned from the great girl singers. New York audiences remember her from It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Broadway Bound, Collected Stories, The Diary of Anne Frank, Gypsy, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, and many others, and the world over knows her as Alice Hyatt in the long-running hit TV series, "Alice." A veteran of the cabaret stage, Linda began her career playing such NYC nightspots as The Showplace in Greenwich Village and midtown's Downstairs at the Upstairs. Recently, Linda released her very first CD, Possibilities. Django A Go-Go is a festival celebrating the music of the great French guitar master, Django Reinhardt at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Friday through Sunday, June 5th through 7th. The first event of the first night is 'Django A Go-Go: Paris, Musette, and Django 1934' on Friday, June 5th at 7:00 pm. The festival was created by New York City based composer and guitarist Stephane Wrembel. Every other year, Wrembel and his band invite a group of extraordinary world-class musicians, all of them specialists in this particular genre, for a two-week tour of the East Coast. The group performs the music of Django Reinhardt, and many of their own original compositions. The 2015 Django a Go-Go All-Star Band is comprised of: Guitar: Stephane Wrembel, Sebastien Felix, a Sinti Gypsy from France, known for playing Django Reinhardt's music; Kamlo: Although born in France, Kamlo grew up in Tunisia and Spain. This gives his playing a very special Mediterranean and Flamenco flair while still under Django's influence; Howard Alden: One of the most renowned contemporary American jazz guitarists out there. Alden was also heavily influenced by Django, and was the guitarist chosen to play the tunes in the Woody Allen film "Sweet and Lowdown", in addition to being Sean Penn's guitar coach for the movie. Violin: John Intrator is one of the premier violinists in the world of Gypsy Jazz today. Many violin masters including Stephane Grapelli, and Claude Williams have praised his virtuosity. Bass: Kells Nollenberger: Kells is part of the Stephane Wrembel Band, and one of the most sought after bassists in New York City. Percussion: Nick Anderson, one of the most fantastic drummers in the world and a member of the Stephane Wrembel Band; David Langlois: David is THE world specialist of washboard, an unforgettable voice in the world of Dixieland, Django and swing jazz.
