Seth Rudetsky's BROADWAY CHATTERBOX returns to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Thursdays at 5:00 pm. This week's Special Guest Star: TONY Award Winner & Pulitzer Prize Winner Tom Kitt. For his score for the musical Next to Normal,Kitt shared the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama with Brian Yorkey. He also won the Tony Award and 2008 Outer Critics Circle Award, and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for American Idiot and Everyday Rapture. Seth's weekly interview show always features stars, soon-to-be stars and folks behind the scenes of the musical theater stage - for just a $10 cover - 2-drink minimum. NYC: COUNTRY MUSIC EVENT AT THE MET TO BE SIMULCAST TO NASHVILLE
If you're a fan of classic country music, you're invited to a pair of performances in early September in New York City that will celebrate the roots of country music, including one show that will be simulcast in Nashville. The first-of-its-kind performance will feature Sherry Carlisle (Smith), Rachel Rodriguez, Karen Dee and Skip Browner on Wednesday, September 3rd at 9:30 pm and Thursday, September 4th at 7:00 pm atTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). By using state-of-the-art Yamaha Disklavier technology, the Thursday show will be simulcast to an audience in the Miller Piano Specialists showroom, at 6:00 pm C.S.T., in Nashville, Tennessee. Nashville audience is asked to arrive by 5:30 pm C.S.T. All of the performers have experienced classic country music through their working relationships with some of the best-loved country artists - the legendary entertainers that paved the way for those in country music today. Yamaha dealer, Faust Harrison Pianos located on W. 58th St. in Manhattan will provide the Yamaha Disklavier to the Metropolitan Room and partner in this event. NYC: TO OSCAR WITH LOVE ... THE MUSIC OF BRAZIL WITH KRISTINE MILLS
Kristine Mills shares "her love letter" to the late, great Oscar Castro Neves, Brazilian guitarist, and composer atTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, September 4th at 9:30 pm. Neves emerged in early 1960 as one of the founding figures of Bossa Nova. This show centers around the seductive melodies of Brazilian music from the years of classic Bossa Nova through present. Hear the song Kristine wrote for Oscar, "Inspiracao" from bossanovafied and the many antidotes Oscar shared about Bossa Nova and Brazilian music in general. Houston's "blond bombshell outta the old school" Kristine Mills, is the consummate performer. She has captured the heart of audiences throughout the US and Brazil with her varied repertoire, vocal prowess and contagious spirit. Your ticket and/or donation to the evening's performance will support the current project supported by UNICEF's Next Generation: No Lost Generation. In 2014 NextGen selected a $500,000 project to support equitable access to education for out of school kids in Syria and the Region. The Syrian crisis has displaced hundreds of thousands of children, preventing many from accessing schooling. Without education, protection, and support for these children, there is a risk of losing an entire generation to this conflict. This project will support education efforts in Syria and neighboring countries by increasing access to learning spaces, expanding access to recreational activities and strengthening alternative education programs for out-of-school kids. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: BEN RIMALOWER DEBUTS NEW PLAY "BAD WITH MONEY"
Ben Rimalower debuts new play "Bad With Money" atTHE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) running on Thursdays at 9:30 pm, September 4th through November 6th. Ben Rimalower's addiction to spending beyond his means has driven him to extreme lengths all his life. In BAD WITH MONEY he charts his sometimes hilarious, sometimes harrowing struggle to overcome his problem - or get rich trying. "Bad With Money" is written and performed by Ben Rimalower and directed by Aaron Mark. Rimalower's first solo show, the long-running hit Patti Issues, explored his obsession with Broadway diva Patti LuPone and his relationship with his troubled gay father. Bad with Money delves into even deeper personal territory with the story of his struggle with debt - a journey that takes him through drug addiction, prostitution, fraud and multiple betrayals. There is a $25-$50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Every Thursday night, as the curtains fall on Broadway, Host Ben Cameron (from Broadway's Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and his crew of amazingly talented folks welcome a new Broadway star to perform at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) at 10:30 pm in this fun and zany musical theater variety show. Then, join Ute's voyage as she continues to Argentina and Tango Nuevo and walks the backstreets of Paris, Berlin, Buenos Aires and New York, where she's made her home for fifteen years now. NYC: VARLA JEAN MERMAN AT 54 BELOW
Returning to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday & Thursday, September 3rd & 4th at 9:30 pm, Varla Jean Merman, aka Jeffery Roberson, unveils a show of hilarious songs, videos and fabulous costumes, featuring musical director Tom Judson at the piano. Jeffery starred in the musical Lucky Guy opposite Leslie Jordan in New York in 2011 at the Little Shubert Theatre. This past year, Jeffery completed shooting the sequel to the camp classic film Girls Will Be Girls, and Varla Jean and the Mushroomheads is now available on www.SethTV.com. Off-Broadway audiences embraced Jeffrey when he played the title role in Giancarlo Menotti's opera The Medium. There is a $35-$45 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
