NEW HOPE, PA: PAM ANN "FULL THROTTLE"

Gutsy, curvaceous, jet-setting, a-list airhostess Pam Ann will perform at THE RRAZZ ROOM IN NEW HOPE (6426 Lower York Road, New Hope, PA - 888-596-1027) on Thursday & Friday, July 17th & 18th at 8:00 pm. Pam takes passengers on a raucous journey from check-in to security to boarding to, hopefully, landing. Along the way, she pokes fun at air travel, the quirks of some of the biggest international airlines and some of the stereotypes commonly held about flight attendants everywhere. Her genius is in mixing camp, culture, humor, fabulousness and a bit of slapstick into an outrageous in-flight cocktail! There is a $35-$45 cover.

HERNDON, VA: NEXTSTOP THEATRE SUMMER CABARET SERIES - ERIN DRISCOLL

NextStop Theatre Company has announced the next bold, new offering in their ambitious inaugural season atNEXTSTOP THEATRE (269 Sunset Park Drive, Herndon, VA - 866-811-4111). Under the leadership of Series Producer, area based performing artist Jim Van Slyke, the company will present eighteen intimate concerts, featuring a eclectic mixture of Broadway stars, nationally acclaimed cabaret artists and some of the finest local singers in the DC Metropolitan area. Running from Friday, July 11th to Saturday, August 16th in the company's 114-seat black box theatre, audiences will be invited to grab a drink or snack from the bar and be transported for evenings featuring classics from musical theatre, jazz, rock, soul and even current hits. On Friday, July 18th, Erin Driscoll will take the stage at NextStop. Originally from Herndon, Ms. Driscoll is a Helen Hayes Award-winning singer/actress who has starred in shows at Signature Theatre, Ford's Theatre, Arena Stage, and Olney Theatre.

WASHINGTON, DC: SOUL LEGEND JEAN CARNE AT BLUES ALLEY

Soul Legend Jean Carne performs at BLUES ALLEY(1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Thursday through Sunday, July 17th through 20th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Jean was often praised for being one of the first Afro-American women to control her musical stylings and not be controlled by the industry moguls. Jean performed with Duke Ellington, the last vocalist to do so before his death. She then teamed up with Norman Connors for four highly regarded sets, contributed 'Reach For it' to George Duke's Gold album and sang lead vocals on the first two albums by Earth, Wind And Fire. The four albums she recorded for Philadelphia International are considered her finest and introduced Jean to pop and R & B audiences for the first time. Call for cover/minimum information.

Lonnie Liston Smith will perform atBOHEMIAN CAVERNS (2001 Eleventh Street N.W., Washington, DC - 202-299-0800) on Friday & Saturday, July 18th & 19th at with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm and Sunday, July 20th at with shows at 7:00 & 9:00 pm. Lonnie Liston Smith is one of contemporary music's most versatile musicians. In a career that spans some 25 years, he has been headlined in a variety of recordings as a featured sideman for some of Jazz music's most illustrious leader's before stepping out to reveal his own original concepts as a bandleader in the mid 70s. Lonnie made several contributions to the work of artists of the time such as Ethel Ennis, Betty Carter, Blakey's Jazz Messengers, Max Roach and Rahsaan Roland Kirk and Miles Davis. He is a keyboardist of the first rank and has influenced a generation of young players who have acknowledged his rhythmic (swing), harmonic acumen and composing skills. Early in his musical career, Lonnie learned about the magical, healing power of music. Since that impressionable time, he has cultivated a rich musical mosaic which he hopes has helped to expand the consciousness, and raise the moral values of Planet Earth's humanity. BETHESDA, MD: THE SOUL CRACKERS WITH TOMMY LEPSON AT BETHESDA BLUE

The Soul Crackers with Tommy Lepson will appear atBETHESDA BLUES & JAZZ SUPPER CLUB (7719 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD - 240-330-4500) on Friday, July 18th at 8:00 pm. Soul Crackers has been spreading joy and making DC audiences dance to the music for 30 years now. Lead vocalist Tommy Lepson is in the Washington Area Music Association Hall of Fame, having won multiple awards for Best Vocalist, performs internationally, and was recently featured at the Montreux Jazz & Blues Festival. Soul Crackers music, including their crackerjack horn section, encompasses Memphis & Motown soul, and features timeless songs. Tonight's special show will also feature the amazing Mary Ann Redmond joining Tommy and the band for some numbers. The Soul Crackers are: Tommy Lepson (lead vocals & guitar), Ronnie Newmyer (bass & vocals) Chuck Sullivan (drums) Keith Grimes ( guitar & vocals) Wayne Sulc (sax & vocals) and special guests Zack Smith (trumpet) and Cesar Vanegas (congas).
