WASHINGTON, DC: MINDI ABAIR AT BLUES ALLEY
Mindi Abair, one of the most dynamic performers on the music scene today, appears at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Monday, July 14th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. In addition to her acclaimed solo work, Mindi was the featured saxophonist on the 2011 and 2012 seasons of American Idol, jammed with Paul Shaffer on the Late Show with David Letterman and joined rock legends Aerosmith for their 2012 summer tour. More recently, Abair received a 2014 GRAMMY nomination in the Best Pop Instrumental Album category for Summer Horns, a #1 recording with her friends Dave Koz, Gerald Albright and Richard Elliot, four of the most pre-eminent saxophonists in contemporary music. In a career that spans seven solo albums and countless collaborations in the studio and live on stage, Abair has made her mark on a broad stretch of the musical landscape that includes jazz, pop, rock, R&B, soul, funk and more. WASHINGTON, DC: BOHEMIAN CAVERNS JAZZ ORCHESTRA
The Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra, a 17 piece big band co-founded by baritone saxophonist Brad Linde, trumpeter Joe Herrera and club owner Omrao Brown, performs on Mondays atBOHEMIAN CAVERNS(2001 Eleventh Street N.W., Washington, DC - 202-299-0800) at 8:00 pm. The BCJO presents a variety of music from big band literature and features some of the District's best musicians on Monday nights at the historic Bohemian Caverns. Music from Ellington, Basie,Strayhorn, Thad Jones, Oliver Nelson, Maria Schneider and originals by band members will embrace and challenge the tradition of big band repertoire. There is a $10 cover.

A Night to Remember Featuring Anissa and Robert T will be presented atBETHESDA BLUES & JAZZ SUPPER CLUB (7719 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD - 240-330-4500) on Monday, July 14th at 7:00 pm. Robert and Anissa perform here in the Metropolitan area and have a wonderful fan base who travel with them. Individually and collectively they have sold out venues such as Blues Alley, The Howard Theater, The Carlyle Club, just to name a few. Currently, Anissa provides background assistance to the legendary disco diva, Gloria Gaynor and Shirley Jones of the hit group, The Jones Girls. Robert is certainly no stranger in the game. His past performances at the venue include Roy Ayers, Maysa, Jean Carne, Brian Lenair, and Allison Williams. Robert's smooth vocals have afforded him opportunities to grace the stage with greats like Stevie Wonder, The Manhattan's, Bootsy Collins, and more. They will be performing songs from Motown, Rock & Roll, Disco, Jazz and R&B. They look forward to a wonderful night of great entertainment.
