LONDON: AMANDA MCBROOM AND GEORGE BALL AT CRAZY COQS
The American International cabaret performer and writer of the hit song The Rose, Amanda McBroom and her husband George Ball, stars of Broadway show Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, present their show SOME ENCHANTED EVENING, at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday through Saturday, April 22nd through 26th at 8:30 pm. Musical Director - Michele Brourman. The show is full of musical romance for grown ups with songs of love, lust, loss, cherished dreams and wisdom by such illustrious songwriters as Cole Porter, Jacques Brel, Kurt Weill, Stephen Sondheim, and of course, McBroom herself. What distinguishes McBroom from her contemporaries is her talent for writing exceptional songs that are flush with feelings and are witty and profound. Never over-the-top, her work seethes with a passion that is artfully funneled into music and lyrics revealed so well in her two most popular songs The Rose and Errol Flynn which McBroom wrote about her father, the actor David Bruce who worked with Flynn and Gary Cooper. Call for cover/minimum information.

This is a unique open mic in the West End, having an acoustic baby grand piano and a bass player. Michael Roulston and Jonty Fisher will be regular musicians - and both are versed at both jazz and more theatrical songs. Aimed at both the jazz and theatrical communities, The Crazy Coqs Open Mic Night welcomes all singers, composers and musicians, up & coming and established, who want to do a turn, performing new material or old favourites.
