BOSTON: MARSHA AMBROSIUS: FRIENDS AND LOVERS TOUR

Marsha Ambrosius brings her 'Friends And Lovers Tour' toTHE REGATTABAR at the Charles Hotel (1 Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA - 617-395-7757) on Tuesday, March 18th at 7:30 & 10:00 pm. Already proven as a talented, sought after songwriter and revered platinum-selling artist, Marsha Ambrosius is meeting the next challenge in her already impressive musical career by reinventing herself as a solo artist with her J Records debut disc LATE NIGHTS & EARLY MORNINGS. Hailing from Liverpool, England, fans first got a taste of Marsha's talent as the singing half of the duo Floetry. Their 2000 debut Floetic produced signature singles like "Say Yes" and "Getting Late" as well as four Grammy nods. Following the 2005 release of their second studio album, Flo'Ology, the ladies veered creatively and personally. While the split was difficult, Marsha continued to build a name for herself as a songwriter and producer, creating "Butterflies"for the late Michael Jackson and other hits for artists such as Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Jamie Foxx and Nas. She's been nominated for a total of six Grammys and has been honored by BMI as their Songwriter of the Year. There is a $22 cover.

D.C.: OUR MOOD SWINGS WITH AMAFUJO AND KENNETH

Amafujo and Kenneth will perform atBLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Tuesday, March 18th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Amafujo and Kenneth met and very quickly realized they had something in common, MUSIC! They have now become each other' muse. The two of them started collaborating and developed a sound of their own. They like to call it NeO-Jazz-Twist. The new school, the old school and alternative mix, makes their sound flow with urban jazzy smooth melodic tones that are soulful, stimulating and sexy. D.C.: ARTIST IN RESIDENCE: THAD WILSON QUINTET

The Thad Wilson Quintet will take over as "Artist in Residence" at BOHEMIAN CAVERNS (2001 Eleventh Street N.W., Washington, DC - 202-299-0800) every Tuesday night with performances at 7:00 & 8:30 pm. One need not dig too deep into our areas jazz scene before coming across the name Thad Wilson. Since coming to D.C. in 1997, Wilson has become a mainstay in the jazz clubs of U Street and beyond by consistently performing with passion, intensity, and consummate artistry in a variety of settings. In addition to his own considerable abilities, his groups feature some of the finest players in the D.C. area. His worldwide appearances include Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia; Paris, France; Antigua, Guatemala; Puebla and Mexico City, Mexico; the D.C. Jazz Festival; Atlanta Jazz Festival, the New Orleans Jazz Festival and many other cities around the world. In 2003, Thad performed his original suite, Reflections on Romare, at the National Gallery of Art's Romare Bearden exhibition opening in 2005. In 2006 and 2007, he served as Program Director for The National Gallery of Art's Jazz in the Garden summer concert series.In 2008, Thad went on the road with the musical production, Ella, which chronicled the life and times of Ella Fitzgerald. He played the role of Donnie and was featured in the play performing a musical impression of Louis Armstrong. Currently, in addition to composing and touring, Thad teaches Jazz Studies at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. There is a $15 cover.

FLORIDA: TOM WOPAT AT THE ROYAL ROOM

Returning for the first time since 2007, Tom Wopat will appear at THE ROYAL ROOM at THE COLONY HOTEL (155 Hammond Avenue, Palm Beach, FL - 561-659-8100) on Tuesday through Saturday, March 18th through 22nd at 8:30 pm. Tom Wopat first came to public attention in the late 1970s as the freewheeling Luke Duke on the TV series The Dukes of Hazzard. In 1977, he made his Broadway debut in Cy Coleman's I Love My Wife. Wopat went on to perform in the Tony Award•winning City of Angels and Guys and Dolls. He received a Tony nomination for creating the role of Frank Butler in the Broadway revival of Annie Get Your Gun, opposite Bernadette Peters. In 2008, Wopat returned to Broadway as Tom Hurley in A Catered Affair with Faith Prince and Harvey Fierstein. 2011 saw him again on Broadway starring as Frank Abagnale Sr. in the new adaptation of Catch Me If You Can. His TV credits include a leading role in Cybill, a recurring role on Home Improvement, the critically acclaimed NBC movie Just My Imagination, and most recently HBO's Taking Chance alongside Kevin Bacon. Wopat has also become a successful recording artist with many albums to his credit, including A Little Bit Closer, Don't Look Back, Learning to Love, and The Still of the Night. In 2005, he released Dissertation on the State of Bliss, featuring the music of Harold Arlen, and his most recent offering, Consider it Swung. SF: THE TOMMY IGOE BIG BAND WITH SPECIAL GUESTS

The Tommy Igoe Big Band has a new home at YOSHI'S(1330 Fillmore Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-655-5600) on select Tuesday nights at 8:00 pm featuring 15 of the Bay Area's finest musicians! On the 18th, his special guest vocalist is Chrissi Poland (of Sting & Nile Rogers). Tommy Igoe is one of the world's most prominent drummers and bandleaders. He began drumming at the age of two and has gone on to craft a unique and diverse career traveling the world with many iconic artists, both as drummer and music director. In 1997, he created the drum book for Disney's "The Lion King," a seminal Broadway event performed in more than 50 countries around the world. During his time with the original company, he served as principal drummer and conductor. He has also created several of the world's best-selling music education titles including "Groove Essentials" and "Great Hands For A Lifetime" with the original "Groove Essentials" poster fast approaching 500,000 copies. His new Bay Area recording studio serves both as a world-class recording facility and education site for online and private sessions. For the last seven years, his Birdland Big Band has been the most popular weekly music event in New York City, maintaining a Friday residency at the legendary Birdland Jazz Club.
