CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: "SECRET OBSESSIONS" WITH EMILY SWALLOW AND JACLYN HUBERMAN
Emily Swallow and Jaclyn Huberman present their two-woman cabaret show "Secret Obsessions" at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Monday, August 5th at 9:30 pm. Secret obsessions? We all have them, whether it's baking in the middle of the night, having an unhealthy fixation with cleaning supplies, or harboring a crush on a subway busker. Siren songstresses Jac Huberman and Emily Swallow will share these obsessions, dirty secrets, and more. Swallow, one of the stars of TNT's new medical drama Monday Mornings, has appeared on TV's Southland, Flight of the Conchords, Ringer, and Medium, as well as on stage including Broadway's High Fidelity, Manhattan Theatre Club's Romantic Poetry, and the Public Theater's Measure for Pleasure. Huberman, New York Musical Theatre Festival's first ever Broadway Idol, has performed her own one-woman cabarets across NYC; she's also appeared in I Love You Because at the Village Theater, Grease at St. Louis's MUNY, And The World Goes Round at the Prince Music Theatre in Philadelphia, and the "News in Revue" in the Berkshires. The song list includes a wide variety of styles, from traditional standards to stage, mainstream pop/rock to all-new original works. Directed by Jim Augustine and under music direction by Mark Fifer. There is a $20 cover plus a $12 food or 2 drink minimum.
