CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: THE RODRIGUEZ BROTHERS BAND AT DIZZY'S
The Rodriguez Brothers Band (Rob Rodriguez, Piano; Mike Rodriguez, Trumpet; Carlos Henriquez, Bass; Ludwig Afonso, Drums; Mauricio Herrera, Percussion) performs at DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) on Friday through Sunday, August 9th, 10th & 11th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. The band is co-led by pianist/composer Robert and trumpeter/composer Michael. Individually they have worked with Roy Haynes, Wynton Marsalis, Eddie Palmieri, Quincy Jones, and Harry Connick Jr., to name a few. Together, they have released several well-received records rooted in, but not limited to, Afro-Cuban music and jazz. Their latest record, Mood Swing, featuring Clarence Penn and Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra bassist Carlos Henriquez, is aptly named for a series of compositions that juxtapose moods and emotions within these musical traditions.
