NYC: THE SWEET SONGS OF CARMEL DEAN AT 54 BELOW
54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) re-welcomes Australian-born Carmel Dean to their stage with the stars of Hands on a Hardbody in 'Carmel's Candy Store' on Sunday, April 21st at 9:30 pm. Carmel is perhaps best-known for music directing and/or vocal arranging the Broadway musicals American Idiot, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and, currently, Hands on a Hardbody. She has worked with a wide range of performers including Chita Rivera, Green Day, Eve Ensler, and Phish, but this time, Carmel presents an evening of her own music, with the help of delectable Broadway veterans Sally Wilfert (Assassins, Make Me a Song), Jay Armstrong Johnson, Allison Case & Keala Settle, (Hands on a Hardbody), Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot, Passing Strange), Michael Winther (Mamma Mia, Songs from an Unmade Bed) and Alysha Umphress (American Idiot, Priscilla ... , On A Clear Day You Can See Forever). There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
