Jackie Draper brings her new show "Tropical Magic (or Vacation from the Blues)" to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Sunday, February 10th at 5:00 pm and Friday, February 22nd at 7:00 pm. "Tropical Magic (or Vacation from the Blues)" is a musical trip to torrid tropical fantasies and other magical mental terrain. Escape the cold and the mundane through songs in English, French and Spanish, guided by such composers/lyricists as Aznavour, Coward, Demare/Manzi, Dorough/Landesman, the Gershwins, Goldrich/Heisler, Lee, Legrand/the Bergmans, Mandel/Hamilton, Manilow/Feldman & Sussman, Sedaka, Warren/Gordon, among others. Along on the adventure, Jackie's experienced team: At the piano - Music Director Gregory Toroian; on bass - Ritt Henn; on woodwinds - Robbyn Tongue; on percussion - special guest (and dance partner) Franklin Ayala. Helen Baldassare directs. There is an $18 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum. $15 cover for members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE.
