SF: ULTRA WORLD X-TET AT YOSHI
ULTRA WORLD X-TET are featured at YOSHI'S (1330 Fillmore Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-655-5600 - ) on Tuesday, February 5th at 8:00 pm. The group combines jazz, world, experimental and contemporary concert styles in a pioneering fusion of East and West. The ensemble features a group of musicians from diverse and colorful ethnic and musical backgrounds: Gary Schwantes (tenor and soprano saxophones/bamboo flutes/composer), Winnie Wong, guzheng (Chinese zither), Yangqin Zhao, yangqin (Chinese hammered dulcimer), Doug Ebert (bass), Surya Prakasha (drumset/ percussion/harmonium). There is a $15 cover.
