NYC: MOIRA DANIS RELEASES NEW CD: SOME PEOPLE'S LIVES
Moira Danis will celebrate the release of her third recording, Some People's Lives, with a special performance atDON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Friday, December 7th at 7:30 pm. The show will feature songs from the CD along with selections from her previous recordings, I Wish and Beautiful Sounds. The evening will feature her music director, Wells Hanley, on piano and vocals, and Andre Montgomery and Parker Scott on vocals. Some People's Lives provides a glimpse into the lives of those around us - friends, lovers, relatives, and strangers. Each has a unique story to be told but Moira shines a light on the connections that exist between us and the similarities shared by "Anyone Who Loves", using a delightful and emotional mix of songs by established writers like Stephen Sondheim, Cy Coleman, Tommy Wolf and Jimmy Webb and relatively new artists like Sara Bareilles, Susan Werner and Chely Wright. On the album, she is accompanied by Hanley on piano, Ben Mars on bass, and Brian Griffin on drums with the entire band contributing vocals. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
