NYC: FRANK DAIN RETURNS WITH THE MAGIC OF MATHIS
Singer Frank Dain will reprise The Magic of Mathis with two performances atDON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Saturdays, December 8th & 15th at 6:00 pm. The Magic of Mathis brings fresh interpretations to such Johnny Mathis signature tunes as "Chances Are," "It's Not for Me to Say," "Wild Is the Wind," "Misty" and "The Twelfth of Never." Contributing creative arrangements is Dain's frequent collaborator, Musical Director Kathleen Landis, a popular pianist who is missed by many people at the Cafe Pierre, where she entertained audiences for years. The Magic of Mathis will also include some more obscure songs, as well, such as "99 Miles from L.A.," "Yellow Roses on Her Gown," "I'll Be Easy to Find" and "Photograph," all part of Mathis's remarkable 56-year career. The show, which ran very successfully at Metropolitan Room in September, has been directed by Lennie Watts. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
