BOS: MOSTLY MERCER: NEW SHOW BY BOBBI CARREY & WILL MCMILLAN AT SCULLERS
On Thursday, December 6th at 8:00 pm, award-winning singers Bobbi Carrey & Will McMillan, present MOSTLY MERCER at SCULLERS JAZZ CLUB (400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA - 617-562-4111). They are joined on stage by Doug Hammer at the piano. The show is MOSTLY MERCER, covering some of the greatest and some of the lesser known songs of Johnny Mercer. Mercer wrote songs for 90 motion pictures, won 4 Academy Awards, wrote 6 Broadway musicals, was a top recording artist, and founded Capitol Records. Mercer's output was enormous, spanning the early days of the swing era through the 1970's. For five decades he collaborated with America's greatest composers, including Jerome Kern, Hoagy Carmichael, Duke Ellington, Harold Arlen, Henry Mancini, Barry Manilow, and many others (including himself).
