NYC: THE METROPOLITAN ROOM PRESENTS JANINAH BURNETT
Janinah Burnett will appear at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Monday, December 2nd at 9:30 pm. Janinah has been acclaimed for her timeless vocal quality and poignant portrayals in signature roles such as Pamina in Die Zauberflote. As Mimi in Baz Luhrman's adaptation of Puccini's La Boheme, Ms. Burnett received tremendous acclaim winning the "Ovation Award" with a record 82 consecutive sold-out shows. Ms. Burnett joined the Metropolitan Opera roster in 2008 for their productions of Carmen and La Boheme, and since returned for Le Nozze di Figaro, La Rondine, and Iphigenie en Tauride. Upcoming, she performs Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro for Lyric Opera Baltimore's inagural season, Leila in Les Pecheurs de Perles with Opera Carolina, as well as a return to the Metropolitan Opera for performances in Parsifal and La Rondine.
