NYC: JUDY COLLINS OPENS CAFE CARLYLE'S NEW SEASON
The unofficial kick-off to New York's social and cultural season will commence when legendary singer/songwriter Judy Collins begins her three-week engagement at THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-570-7189 ) Tuesdays through Saturdays from September 11th through 29th at 8:45 pm. Musical director is Russell Walden. Ms. Collins unique blend of interpretative folksongs and contemporary themes have captivated audiences for over fifty years and landed her a spot in the Grammy Hall of Fame. Ms. Collins' rendezvous at the Cafe Carlyle will feature beloved hits from her recent album Bohemian including Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory's "Pure Imagination", Woody Guthrie's "Pastures of Plenty", Jimmy Webb's "Campo De Encino" and Ms. Collins' own "In The Twilight" which she wrote about her mother. There is a $110 cover Tuesday through Thursdays, $135 on Fridays & Saturdays.
