Dolores "LaLa" Brooks was a member of the legendary girl group The Crystals and is best known as the lead vocalist on their hits "Then He Kissed Me" and "Da Doo Ron Ron". LaLa has been seen on Broadway in numerous shows including "Hair" and "Two Gentlemen of Verona". She also toured with and recorded for various artists (such as the Neville Brothers, Bobby Womack and Isaac Hayes), made short appearances in films, and contributed songs to different movie soundtracks. The husband-and-wife team of David Alpher (pianist/composer) and Jennie Litt (singer/lyricist) will return to cabaret stage at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, January 12th at 7:00 pm and Saturday, January 29th at 4:00 pm. They are joined by Ritt Henn on bass. The show is directed by Barry Kleinbort. The songs cover topics like celebrity chefs, manatees, lingerie, cryonic preservation of embryos, and the randomness of absolutely everything. Some old, some new, plus a select handful of standards from Kern & Hammerstein, Bock & Harnick, & Edith Piaf.
