L.A.AREA: SINGER & COMIC MELISSA VARDEY MAKES DESERT DEBUT
Les Michaels Life Is A Cabaret Concert Series moves to Sundays at 2:00 pm in 2011 at ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE AT THE JOSLYN CENTER THEATRE (73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - 760-340-3220). Opening the news series on Sunday, January 2nd will be award-winning writer, singer, composer, pianist, Melissa Vardey, who will debut her latest one-woman show "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Foreclosure" in which we find her inhabiting the wonderful world of being underwater - figuratively speaking. Her only lifeline: her wits, skills at the piano and a sense of optimism while performing a variety of songs on piano, ukulele and percussion instruments, drawing from her own originals and her love of jazz, blues, pop, Broadway and classical. Traveling the globe for 30 years, the stage has always been her home in exotic lands where she entertained presidents, sheikhs, royalty and dignitaries. More recently, Hollywood beckoned, along with the pursuit of The American Dream: life, liberty and loan modification. Tickets are $10.
