NYC: COMSTOCK & FASANO PRESENT "HELLUVA TOWN"
Eric Comstock & Barbara Fasano, the husband-and-wife team equally respected in both the pop and jazz worlds, return to the legendary THE ALGONQUIN OAK ROOM (59 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-419-9331), Tuesdays through Saturdays, January 4th through 15th. Performances are at 8:30 pm with late shows added on Fridays & Saturdays. They will debut their new show, "HELLUVA TOWN: A New York Soundtrack" which celebrates the love/hate affair Comstock, Fasano and most New Yorkers have with their city. Comstock and Fasano will perform an idiosyncratic mix of songs from Broadway and Hollywood, the pop singer-songwriters and the jazz songbook. The wide gamut of writers includes Leonard Bernstein, Rodgers & Hart, Comden & Green, Charles Strouse & Lee Adams, Cy Coleman & Carolyn Leigh, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Horace Silver, Jon Hendricks, Harry Warren, Billy Strayhorn, and Bacharach & David. Comstock and Fasano will perform songs from such New York musicals as ON THE TOWN, 42nd STREET, GOLDEN BOY, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS, and PROMISES, PROMISES. There is a $50 cover plus either a $30 food/drink minimum or a $60 prix fixe dinner.
