Songstress Sandy Bainum returns to New York this fall to celebrate an exceptional, though rarely performed, group of songs by legendary composers at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Wednesday, November 9th and Tuesday, November 15th, both shows at 7:00 pm. The eclectic collection brilliantly weaves together the melodies of many decades and musical genres and features tunes by Carly Simon, Ann Hampton Callaway, Stephen Sondheim, Dave Brubeck, Fiona Apple, Marcy Heisler, Zina Goldrich and many others. Joining Sandy is her award-winning musical director, Lanny Meyers. Ms. Bainum, a regular on the Washington, D.C. theatre scene, made her Broadway debut in David Merrick's legendary production of 42nd Street. Since moving to D.C. with her husband, the former Maryland State Senator, Stewart Bainum, Sandy has performed leading roles in many of Washington's top theatrical venues including the Kennedy Center, Washington Savoyards, the Signature Theatre and Ford's Theater, where she just completed a run in Jason Robert Brown's Parade. There is a $15 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
