L.A.: LATIN NIGHTS AT THE GARDENIA
Dolores Petersen and Emerson Bran present two nights of Latin Fever at THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444) on Wednesday & Thursday, November 16th & 17th at 9:00 pm. The lineup on Thursday features Justo Almario, master saxophonist, flutist, clarinetist, composer, and arranger, who is heard on such Grammy-winning works as Linda Ronstadt's Frenesi, Placido Domingo's A Mi Alma Latina, Luis Miguel's Romance, Andrae Crouch's Mercy, and Israel Lopez Cachao's Master Sessions and Ahora Si, as well as on the Oscar-winning soundtracks from Happy Feet and Sideways. He has been featured on projects for Queen Latifah, Jennifer Lopez, Andy Garcia, and John Turturo, and has additional performance credits with Roy Ayers, Sergio Mendes, Tito Puente, Chaka Khan, Herb Alpert, and many others. He has taught at the Henry Mancini Institute, has mentored inner city youth during workshops at the World Stage, and these days teaches sax for the Jazz Department at UCLA's Music School.
