TODAY IN S.F.: KATYA SMIRNOFF-SKYY IN "KATYA ... A ONE-NIGHT STAND
San Francisco's favorite Russian red-head, the Countess Katya Smirnoff-Skyy brings her latest cabaret spectacular, "Katya....A One Night Stand" to RRAZZ ROOM at THE HOTEL NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-394-1189) on Tuesday, August 24th at 8:00 pm. The show is an evening of song, story and vodka. With music ranging from Bizet to Lady Gaga to John Lennon, there is a little something for everyone in this 90 minute voyage into the mind of Russia's (self proclaimed) Greatest Mezzo-Soprano understudy turned Countess, turned Macy's cosmetic counter lady. Katya will be joined by her long time musical director Joseph Kanon. Named Best Drag act 2008 by the San Francisco Bay Guardian and best actor in a musical by the Bay Area Theater Critics Association, J. Conrad Frank (writer and Life Coach for Ms. Smirnoff) has worked with the Countess since her arrival in San Francisco five years ago. As Katya, Conrad has shown his wit and vocal stylings in countless nightclubs, bars and events across San Francisco, and performed in Provincetown. Tickets are $25 with a 2-drink minimum.
