NYC: MARIA SCHNEIDER ORCHESTRA AT BIRDLAND
The Maria Schneider Orchestra moves into BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) Tuesday, through Saturday, July 20th through 24th, with shows at 8:30 & 11:00 pm. Ms. Schneider became widely known through the orchestra she founded in 1992, which held a Monday night residency at Visiones in New York City for five years. Subsequently, the Maria Schneider Orchestra has performed at festivals and concert halls worldwide, while Maria has received numerous commissions and guest-conducting invites, working with over 80 groups from over 20 countries spanning Europe, South America, Australia, and the U.S. There is a $40 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.
