NYC: CHRISTINE REISNER WILL BE "UNEARTHING TREASURES"
Singer Christine Reisner will appear at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Tuesdays, July 13th & 20th at 7:00 pm to premiere "Unearthing Treasures", a program of songs that span the musical worlds of cabaret, blues, jazz and swing. Musical direction is by Tex Arnold, with Jon Burr on bass and Rob Garcia on drums. The show is directed by Eric Michael Gillett. Her most recent NYC appearance was a one-woman show of songs by her late uncle, composer Albert Hague. Christine made a name for herself as a cabaret star in France and as a dancer in the company of the famous Alwin Nikolais. A true triple threat, she also incorporates her violin playing to add color to musical arrangements of original pieces, including Hague's "Proud" and "Early Blue Evening" (lyrics by Langston Hughes), as well as Irving Berlin's "Blue Skies." There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
